Some of my students are making a kite at school. It was an important day. Look how hard they are working at it.

These pictures are from my cell phone so..... I am sorry that the pictures are so small. It was fun though. And my tickets were quite expensive to see so far away. At the end, (picture #5) you can see them throwing the cushins. Why? I don't know. They just do.

July 15th, 2004. Yamakasa Festival in Fukuoka.

Yamakasa is one of the most unique festivals in Fukuoka. The men race while carring a huge wooden shrine. They wear a tradition costume and the people in the streets through water on them because its so hot.

May 2004, Okinowa, Japan

This is the ring of a Bull Fight. The Bulls battle each other by pushing each other, head to head. Okinowa is famous for bull fighting. Unlike Spanish style, the bulls are not killed.

I thought this was special Okinowa boozes. But I later learned it was special vinager. Yuck! Some like it I guess.

This is a dish of Okinowa Ramen. (noodle soup)

Naha Airport is a very new and clean airport with a GREAT way of the run way. This is me on the plane.
